I wrote in my notes a while back:

"8/24/72 - one of the best ever. excellent quality. 1st set songs played to perfection. Playin only average. vocals on 1/2 step best ever. vocals on truckin best ever. average Dark Star into a fantastic Dew..."

I probably got a bit carried away with the "best ever", especially since the DS and Playin weren't all that great, but it's one fantastic show. There were only a few periods where this band really got the vocals right - this was one of them.

truly a great sounding show...in the whole run up to the creamery benefit you hear a band that has reached YET ANOTHER plateau...what an incredible metamorphosis the group underwetn in just the first 5-6 years!
